  RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist in rigging up, rigging down and transporting of drilling rig and equipment. • Checking drilling fluid properties & mixing chemicals as per Mud Engineers instructions and recording this information hourly. • Maintaining and monitoring pit equipment including pumps, shales shakers, stirrers, charge pumps and other equipment. • Monitoring pump pressures and listening to pumps for signs of malfunctions • Making repairs to pumps and equipment • Monitoring pit volumes for indications of gain or loss of drilling fluids and reporting this information to the driller, toolpusher and companyman. • Greasing and inspecting the crown and all sheaves in the derrick • Working the board during trips racking drill pipe and drill collars when tripping out of the hole-then latching them when running back in the hole. • Working at heights for extended hours in all weather during rig operations. • Learning, following & promoting workplace safety practices.
