Overview

Whānau Centred Services is an independent not for profit social enterprise with a drive to provide integrated social services within the Waikato. Our goal as a team is to facilitate the development of strong therapeutic relationships that are client lead, so that in partnership we can maximise strengths and minimise challenges in achieving goals. Whānau Centred Services recognises the importance of wellbeing and relationships, and the negative outcomes for whānau when this is reduced. When we are healthy and resilient we lead a full life and can overcome personal challenges. We form and sustain positive relationships with whānau, friends, peers and intimate partners. Whānau are safe, and conflict and violence are reduced. Whānau Centred Services recognises that for our tamariki to thrive, their physical, mental, emotional and social needs must be met. When parents are skilled and confident they can form a warm and secure attachment with their children that meets their developmental needs. Parents create a nurturing environment for their children to grow up in, that is free from violence. Children and young people achieve developmental milestones, feel good about themselves and have a strong sense of self-identity. Whānau Centred Services recognises that for children to thrive, their physical, mental, emotional and social needs must be met.
