OUR MOTTO: INDEPENDENT, ETHICAL & PROFESSIONAL Vanjil Art Institute (est.2013) is a female-led visual arts organization based in Ulaanbaatar, and is one of the leading specialist institutions in Mongolia. VAI promotes emerging artists, art historians and curators, and supports contemporary art practices, art photography, art research and art education in the country. VAI’s model is unique in Mongolia; a self-funded organisation that offers specialist consultancies, professional services and art education. VAI was the first organisation to have an annual public lecture series (2014-) on the topic of contemporary art in Mongolia. Furthermore, VAI introduced art consultancy, artist coaching, mentorship and curator services in the country. Currently, VAI sees itself as a major contributing entity towards developing an ethical, sustainable and professional arts infrastructure for all parties. In fact, VAI operates under the belief that artists, art historians, art curators, art managers, gallerists and organisations are part of an ecosystem - one in which all component parts are interdependent and complimentary, and where the absence or exclusion of any impairs the efficiency and productivity of the whole.
