Founded by students at UT Austin, Uplift Austin Inc. (501c3) is a non-profit organization that works to help the houseless and underprivileged community in Austin. The nonprofit works with college students at the University of Texas at Austin to help vulnerable populations. Uplift Austin has been an official 501c3 for over a year, and it's amazing to look back on all the things we were able to accomplish. In this past year, we’ve had over a dozen events giving out food to the houseless population of Austin, along with shoe drives and blanket drives. One of our biggest events this past year was giving around 200 pairs of shoes to students at a socio-economically disadvantaged Elementary School. We are extremely enthusiastic about continuing to help the houseless and underprivileged population this school year and expanding our outreach in the city of Austin.
