Overview
The Spatial Analysis Laboratory is an applied research facility located in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (RESNR). Lab faculty and research professionals work with student employees and collaborators from other units to apply appropriate geospatial technologies to challenges in natural resources planning and ecology. We specialize in turning big geospatial datasets into high-value information for analysis, planning and management. The Lab specializes in land-cover mapping, development of databases and new applications for natural resource management, and biodiversity analysis. Our collaborators include consulting firms, nonprofits, government agencies, municipalities, national labs and other units here at UVM (e.g., USDA Forest Service Northeastern Research Station, Transportation Research Center, Gund Institute for Ecological Economics and the Geography Department).
