TAM is a program of the City of Torrance Cultural Services Division of the Community Services Department and free to the public. The museum encourages the understanding and appreciation of contemporary artwork via unique and varied exhibitions throughout the year, as well as educational programing, artist workshops, and public art projects. Through its public art initiatives the museum strives to democratize access to art, providing as much of its community a chance to experience art as possible. The museum aims to not only serve the public but also the artists that it presents by producing programming that includes creating opportunities for them to grow in their artistic practices and create international networks.
