The Thorpe Football Academy is a newly founded Football and Education programme for sixth form students at Thorpe St Andrew School and Sixth Form. The programme will combine an elite level of football training and a high level of education in order to provide students with the opportunity to continue their academic, football and career development. Through the programme students will receive daily training from UEFA qualified coaches with years of experience working in professional academies alongside a varied and comprehensive game programmes against semi-professional and professional clubs. Students will also receive performance analysis reviews of all their games to drive their footballing development to the highest level possible. The course marks the beginning of an exciting partnership between Thorpe St Andrew School and Sixth Form and Dussindale and Hellesdon FC, being in partnership with an ambitious Football Club based within the heart of our local community will give students the opportunity to progress to play for Dussindale and Hellesdon FC or take up other roles within the club such as progressing onto the coaching pathway. In terms of their education, students will be able to study the Cambridge National Extended Diploma in Sport, the equivalent of three A Levels and T Level in Management and Administration. Moving into years two and three for the programme we look forward to opening our academic offering for Football Academy students with the addition of A Levels and other T Level options. Our experienced and high-quality teaching staff will support students through the qualification that ensures university opportunities both in the UK and abroad are a viable option. Students will have support in applying to scholarships in the USA and across Europe as part of the course. The course is designed for those students that are looking to reach the next level within their footballing development and push themselves to achieve their goals.
