Thornbridge Outdoors provides outdoor and environmental education activities, training courses, an event venue and flexible group accommodation to cater for day visits and residential groups of all ages. We are located near Great Longstone, in the heart of the Peak District a few miles outside Bakewell. We have an extensive 30-acre site in an idyllic setting, accommodation for 60 people, a camping area, meeting rooms, cycle trails and various onsite and offsite activities. Thornbridge Outdoors (and this account) is owned and operated by Sheffield City Council. Outdoor Education We provide a wide range of outdoor education programmes for all types of groups. With our central location in the Peak District, flexible catered or self-catered accommodation and excellent team of instructors and coaches we can tailor activities & programmes to suit groups of different ages and abilities. Accommodation & Facilities We have a range of accommodation options enabling us to accommodate both small & large groups of friends, families, clubs, workmates, schools, formal or informal groups. We also have a sheltered flat camping area complete with 9 Teepee’s. Events & Celebrations We are situated within the beautiful Peak District National Park, an ideal location to base a get together or day event. We have a variety of fun and challenging activities on site and can also offer activities within the Peak District. Courses & Training We offer a wide range of courses including hill walking, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking & first aid delivered by experienced qualified staff.
