Houghton House Addiction & Mental Health Treatment Centres

Mental Health Care

Overview

The Houghton House Addiction & Mental Health Treatment Centres was established in 1995 as a primary care treatment facility, catering solely for addiction and alcoholism recovery. Since then the group has expanded to include secondary and tertiary care facilities as well, which help patients to sustain a successful, recovery-based lifestyle. We also run a comprehensive outpatient programme. In addition, employee wellness programmes are available for corporate clients. Our world class treatment facilities are run and managed by accredited professionals and counsellors, some of whom are recovering addicts or alcoholics themselves. This contributes greatly towards the overall atmosphere of compassion and acceptance within the group. Our aim is to treat all clients with dignity and respect. Regarded as the top private rehabilitation centre in Johannesburg, we offer the full spectrum of treatment for all addictive disorders and associated problems. Our treatment programmes begin with a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s needs. We offer short- and long-term residential treatment, outpatient services, ongoing aftercare, relapse prevention as well as halfway house accommodation (sober living options). We operate on the belief that alcoholism/addiction are a recognised and diagnosable disease, not a moral failing. As such, we strive to create an environment where our patients feel respected and their dignity can be restored. We are dedicated to helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing. We focus on every patient’s specific needs, and strive to deliver excellent clinical outcomes through individually-tailored treatment plans. Our purpose is to make a real and lasting difference in our patients’ lives.
