The Artillery Brewing Company

Overview

The Artillery Brewing Company is a microbrewery in Chester County, Pennsylvania that derives its brand imagery and mission from the rich history of the American Revolution, especially with its roots in the Brandywine Valley. Founded in late 2018, Artillery started up in early 2019 with a nano-scale brewery on a historic farm on the edge of the site of the Battle of Brandywine, the largest and longest battle of the American Revolution. The brewery has now moved into a larger-scale location in the west end of the West Chester, Pennsylvania. First-time visitors to Artillery open a set of glass doors with a giant silhouetted cannon, passing between two large antique lanterns, and walk into a cocoon of American Revolutionary history. Giant canvas renderings of the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, a Brandywine battlefield map from the British General Howe, the Betsy Ross flag and the flag from General George Washington’s HQ at Valley Forge adorn the two-story walls. Beer is brewed on-site for in-house enjoyment in the Barracks taproom, as well as for take-away from the taproom and through the to-go window to ensure Artillery fans can enjoy food and beer with the troops at home, as well. The beer menu is a journey through the world’s best best styles: American, Belgian, Czech, English, and German. This summer, Artillery Brewing will recommence its ‘Battlefield Series’ beers: a line of ales and lagers named after and crafted for each battle in the American Revolution, and a portion of profit from which Artillery will donate to each beer’s namesake battlefield park, historic society, or museum – a form of historic beer activism, if you will. Come and Join the Revolution!
