Overview

As innovation, data, and compliance pave the way for our future, Temple University’s Risk, Actuarial Science, and Legal Studies (RALS) Department affords students the richness of an interconnected academic experience and employers a single access point to multi-disciplinary talent. Across our four programs, we focus on developing students’ critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills through classroom and co-curricular engagement in order to prepare them for a number of professional pathways. RALS has the capacity to produce a full complement of undergraduate, masters, and PhD graduates and sits within the Richard J. Fox School of Business and Management, the largest business school in the Greater Philadelphia region and one of the largest in the world. The Department is home to Programs in Legal Studies, Healthcare Management, and the perennial top-5-in-the-nation Programs in Risk Management/Insurance and Actuarial Science, with the Risk Program due to kick off its Centennial Celebration in 2023. Students are encouraged to participate in the Gamma Iota Sigma and Phi Alpha Delta international professional fraternities.
