Overview

The FASTR program seeks to help close the gender gap in sports science research with an emphasis on early identification and interventions to prevent injury and identify ways to optimize performance in female athletes. The FASTR vision also involves translation of this cutting-edge information and research to athletes, coaches, and practitioners in the community. We hope to inspire female athletes to learn more about their bodies and embrace what makes them strong and unique. Through proper education surrounding fueling, recovery, mental health, and more we encourage the development lifelong athletes. Our program is a part of the Stanford Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance. The Wu Tsai Alliance is a collective of 6 institutions studying peak performance and seeking to improve human health for all. Our Program Director, Dr. Emily Kraus is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford Children’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center with a specialty in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) sports medicine.
