Overview
SWT is a farmer-owned, independent grain and crop inputs company, with over 520 shareholders that include local farmers, business owners, and individuals. SWT provides a wide range of services, including grain marketing, crop nutrients, crop protection, and agronomy services that assist in maximizing producers’ operations. SWT focuses on 4R Nutrient Stewardship to ensure sustainable and healthy crops, supporting safeguards for southwest Saskatchewan’s diverse soils. The SWT inland grain terminal is located 7 miles east of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, along the Trans-Canada Highway and connects to the Canadian Pacific Railway’s mainline. This location ships approximately 500,000MT annually and is considered the largest shipper of grain in southern Saskatchewan. SWT purchases and merchandises field crops agronomically suited to the area. These include durum wheat, canola, yellow peas, red lentils, flax, and spring wheat. SWT has invested significant capital in their blending facilities, capacity, and rail to provide producers and buyers with efficient and accurate services. SWT maintains close relationships with and purchases directly from the most advanced grain producers in southwest Saskatchewan. By fostering an out-to-customers approach with their customers, SWT has cultivated long-term and dependable relationships with both producers and buyers. This allows SWT to foster a close working relationship with producers and strengthen sustainable farming practices. Through their retail business, SWT sells directly to producers in six strategically located outlets throughout southwest Saskatchewan. These are located in Kyle, Cabri, Gull Lake, Shaunavon, Wymark, and Hazenmore. Each location is staffed with experienced agronomists and provides producers with a full-service farm supplies outlet, including fertilizers, crop protection products, and agronomic services.
