She Speaks is a flagship project of Aambra Foundation. To strengthen the women’s cause and share their success and challenges, we conceptualized; She Speaks – A feature presentation where we invite not only accomplished and inspiring men and women from different walks of life to share their story of success, struggle and challenges but also present case studies. Gender sensitisation, policy advocacy and behaviour change are our principal goals. “She Speaks” is a unique idea woven around the feminist prism of empowerment. It was born out of a compelling need to tell a story which was hidden behind the walls of silence. She Speaks, therefore, is breaking of the silence of a woman, the age-old dogmatic expression of being unheard, not getting a voice for herself. Women for long have been moving ahead with their self-carved path, beset with struggle and apprehension. “She Speaks” helps in providing a platform to half the population in speaking out. “She Speaks” tries to retrieve the narrative of a Woman who is now an achiever in her own arena. The Woman, as she speaks, is no longer vulnerable, but confident, strong and self-assured. “She Speaks” is a celebration of the joy of a woman, sharing of her life experiences and confessions of the pain and agony she has gone through.
