Overview

Public sentiment is overwhelming: the vast majority of Ohioans (90%) are in favor of legal medical marijuana. It’s estimated that about one in seven Ohioans—over 1,240,000—currently uses cannabis, despite the fact that as of September 2018, the State’s medical marijuana program was months behind its scheduled launch. So, legal or not, marijuana already has a huge underground impact on Ohio’s economy. Legal marijuana represents unprecedented economic growth opportunities for our State and region, with groundbreaking opportunities in cannabis cultivation, processing, analysis and testing, medical care, retail dispensary sales and related ancillary services. The Ohio Cannabis Chamber of Commerce (OCCC) was formed to grow Ohio’s legal cannabis economy, advocate for and give a voice to the medical marijuana industry in the great State of Ohio, and work to end anti-cannabis discrimination and bias. We work to ensure that the legal cannabis industry’s contributions to Ohio’s economy are recognized and respected by Ohio’s state government, regulatory agencies, and elected officials. We’re also committed to giving those in the industry and ancillary industries get the support and encouragement you need to thrive in Ohio’s new legal cannabis marketplace. As legal grow operations, processors and dispensaries open across the Buckeye State, the Ohio Cannabis Chamber of Commerce stands ready to help cultivate professionalism and responsibility within the industry.
