Overview
National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Rural Development, is a premier national centre of excellence in rural development and panchayati raj. The Institute build capacities of rural development functionaries, academicians, young students, community-based organisations, elected representatives, financial institutions, and other stakeholders through inter-related activities of training, research & consultancy, academic programmes, technology transfer, etc. ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ฌ: NIRDPR runs two full-time residential diploma programmes and four distance post graduate diploma programmes with an aim to create a committed and competent cadre of rural development professionals in the country and to address key policy and management issues in rural development. NIRDPR offers a one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM). ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ฉ๐ ๐ค๐๐๐๐ง๐จ ๐ผ๐๐พ๐๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐ซ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐ค-๐ฎ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ช๐ก๐ก-๐ฉ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ค๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐ง๐๐๐ช๐๐ฉ๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ฅ๐ก๐ค๐ข๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ-๐๐ช๐ง๐๐ก ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ (๐๐๐ฟ๐-๐๐) ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ข๐ in addition to much sought after one-year PGDRDM programme. Since its inception of academic programmes in 2008, about 800 development professionals who have passed out of the Institute have made a substantial contribution by working in flagship programmes of Central and State Governments, CSR foundations, NGOs, International Development Organizations etc. Many have also started social enterprises.
