NGO Welfare Is a Ukrainian non-profit established and officially registered in 2013 in Kyiv by lawyers providing pro bono legal support to vulnerable populations and other civil society actors. The NGO has a certificate issued by the State Fiscal Service on the nonprofit nature of the organization. • Field: protection of human rights, equality and access to justice with emphasis on right to property. • Activities: pro bono legal services and guidance of vulnerable populations through administrative and court procedures of national and international authority. Advocacy for equal rights and access to justice on national and regional levels. Legal research and assessments resulting in disaggregated data. Communication of legal tools on protection of housing rights’ that are accessible to every citizen (by means of youtube videos, webinars, trainings, ads etc). Legal support of other civil society actors. • Pilot project: Development of a universal legal compensation mechanism for violation of civilians’ right to own property as a result of emergency of military, environmental or social nature with a focus on eastern Ukraine. • Beneficiaries: conflict-affected populations, IDPs, women-led households, elderly, persons with disabilities, refugees, other civil society actors. • Our partners: NGO “Women’s Union”, Federation of Greek Communities of Ukraine, expert company working on damage assessment “ExpertProvision”, Law Firm Juan Fernando Wiebe based in Strasbourg, LLC KabStroy (Kharkiv).
