Overview

Nature Conservation Management (NACOM) is the pioneer, non-government, pro-environment organization in Bangladesh, founded in 1987. Its mandates relate to natural resource management (NRM), climate change and resilience, biodiversity conservation, poverty alleviation, environmental and social assessment, capacity building, community mobilization for empowerment, and sustainable development through research, information exchange and undertaking projects and programs implementation. NACOM has highly experienced and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve its mandates. Mission: NACOM’s mission is to engage in activities to ensure protection of nature while empowering local communities Vision: “Protection of Nature for Better Human Life” Objectives: Promote sustainable management of natural resources, initiatives for biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptations. Create awareness among local communities and other stakeholders for the protection of environment and biodiversity. Generate and exchange information for understanding conservation needs and strategies, ecological processes, etc and developing methods and tools for sustainable natural resource management. Promote alternate livelihood options among poor resource users as an option for reducing pressure on natural resources.
