Overview

Argan trees grow only in Morocco, on a narrow strip of desert between Marrakesh and Essaouira. They can survive incredibly harsh conditions where few other trees can’t, and the process of extracting their oil is highly labor-intensive. Most of this work is done by female farmworkers who must manually displace the fruit from the thorny tree branches, remove the flesh, and then crack the internal kernel with a rock to extract the precious oil. It takes 15 hours of labor to produce one liter of Argan oil. Health benefits of Argan Oil: Switch your usual oil for Argan cooking oil and you’ll be consuming healthier omega 3’s, more vitamin E, and more antioxidants than before. The essence of Argan has produced a culinary Argan Oil that is rich in flavor and a great compliment to a range of dishes and recipes. Great for dipping bread, drizzling over salads, and for adding to couscous, the uses are endless and you’ll be wondering why you’ve waited until now to add it to your diet. * 100% ECO-CERTIFIED ORGANIC – tested and proven for its limitless benefits, Moroccan Argan Oil is considered to be one of the purest oils in the world making it a healthy and premium culinary oil * VERSATILE – being food-grade, this Argan organic oil is fully edible and can be used in place of olive oil for salad dressing and bread dipping * ORIGIN – Argan Oil originates from the kernels of the Argan tree which are native to Morocco in North Africa * PERFECT FINISHES – This organic oil improves dishes by drizzling over salads, soups, roasted vegetables, oatmeal, and even creamy desserts! Since the Argan Tree grows only in one place in the world - the South of Morocco, its supplies are limited. In recent years, the Argan tree has been threatened by social and climatic factors, such as increased agriculture and over-exploitation. By using an accredited all-women cooperative network as its sole supplier, we play a role in helping to support the integration of women in Moroccan society
