Overview

The Latin America New Zealand Society (LANZSOC) is a club to connect students of the University of Canterbury and those from Latin America who wish to engage in business opportunities, strengthen cultural awareness and build long-lasting relationships. LANZSOC is unique as it is the only club on UC campus that aims to create a platform for students to engage and become more aware of the rich culture and opportunities in Latin America through programmes and events such as: - Seminars and public speakers to introduce students of the current market in L.A. - Develop competitions where students can compete for internships in New Zealand businesses based in L.A - Cultural events that bring an appreciation of the many facets of Latin American culture, such as food, dance and language - Spanish lessons to prepare students venturing to Latin America to have a basic level of relevant vocabulary Latin America is an emerging market and there are increasing number of opportunities for students to live, work and study there. Our aim is to provide networks, links and connections between students and business from both Latin America and New Zealand. We also hope to be a support network for students who wish to travel to Latin America through equipping them with necessary information and understanding of Latin American business practices.
