Overview

Parvaah, the social initiative of K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering is inspired by the idea of giving back to the society. It was started in the year 2014 with the aim of helping our society tackle various issues, ranging from social to environmental. Parvaah literally means "caring" in Hindi and that is exactly what Parvaah does, "Parvaah for its own society" (cares for its society) which is a need of the hour. At Parvaah, we undertake a social cause every few years and work towards its satisfactory completion. Previously, Parvaah has organised several drives like plantation drives, donation drives, cleanup drives and has been a part of social events like the LGBTQ rights promenade. With all these events, Parvaah has cared for people of all age groups, races & genders which makes Parvaah live upto its name. The current undertaking of Parvaah is a three year motive to help build a " Zero waste community" where constant efforts are being made to reduce, reuse and recycle the waste generated. Numerous events have been planned to spread awareness on this requisite issue and we are presently in the final year of this undertaking.
