JJK PLACES, PBC is a Denver based social impact real estate development, investment, and consulting company. It is legally structured as a public benefit corporation (PBC), and is recognized as a Certified B Corp. Its sole focus is on originating, developing, and consulting on community-oriented, people-centric real estate development and investment projects that create significant public good. As a social impact company, JJK PLACES combines the best elements of a mission-driven nonprofit organization with the financial discipline and entrepreneurial innovation characteristic of the most successful for-profit businesses. It is called a "hybrid business" model, and is part of a growing global movement promoting the idea that business should be a force for creating public good. JJK PLACES, PBC is now applying this concept to Denver's real estate markets. JJK PLACES is a "triple bottom-line" company (i.e., "People, Wellness, Prosperity"). It seeks to harness private, public, philanthropic, and other financial capital and collectively channel them into creating socially and environmentally conscious real estate development, especially in historically underserved communities. JJK PLACES two primary public good purposes are to: 1) create more "income appropriate" housing options in the Denver metro area, and 2) preserve/produce more economically accessible commercial space targeted for community-serving uses.
