Overview

Iron Workers Local 272 has been a part of the South Florida community since 1919. We are committed to raising the living conditions of our members and providing the Iron Working Industry with skilled Ironworkers. We do this in three ways. Training apprentices through our state accredited apprenticeship program. Journeyman upgrading to improve the skills of our members. Organizing skilled tradesmen into the Union from nonunion employers. We are a chartered Local of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers. The International Union was founded in 1896 and has members in approximately 250 local unions throughout the United States and Canada. This Local Union has been serving South Florida since 1919. The Mission of our Local Union is to provide the Iron Working Industry with competent, productive manpower and to provide Ironworkers with the best possible pay, benefits and conditions. We work as a team with our signatory employers and seek to bring jobs in on time and under budget and to organize all the Ironworkers in our craft.
