Overview

Showcasing the next generation inflow control technology; and the first ever Universal Inflow Control System (UICS). Density Activated Recovery (DAR) technology represents the first truly Universal Inflow Control System. This disruptive downhole technology, used in the reservoir section of horizontal development wells has game-changing features that align with oil companies focus and priorities with respect to volume, cost and upstream emissions. DAR represents the first inflow control solution which operates independent of viscosity contrasts, local pressure and flow rate; at the same time it can operate at a low differential pressure. This is achieved with a system that only reacts to density contrasts, and ensures large flow paths as long as the water/oil or gas/oil fraction is below the operator defined closing criteria. Hence, it can be applied to efficiently limit water production, regardless of oil viscosity. It is insensitive to reservoir heterogeneity, allows unconstrained oil production from reservoir zones not affected by excessive water or gas break through, and improves lift and recovery rates. In other words - the DAR system Controls Water – by nature, to deliver a front-loaded oil production profile. It is unaffected by local reservoir pressures and productivity, thereby handles horizontal well challenges, such as reservoir heterogeneity and geological uncertainty. Application of DAR technology can dramatically reduce GHG emissions by considerably reducing gas flaring, as well as produced water handling and re-injection over the life time of a field development.
