The Tunisian Higher Institute of Fishing Technologies and Aquaculture Bizerte (ISPAB) is an establishment of Higher Education under the dual supervision of the University of Carthage and Institution of Agricultural Research and Higher Education IRESA. ISPAB collaborates with other public organizations, private sector and NGOs in the field of fisheries, aquaculture and marine ecosystems in order to enhance management of natural resources, to develop the aquaculture activity, and to provide technical and scientific assistance for better practices. Its main research areas tackle shellfish culture, fish farming and marine aquaculture, fishing technologies, aquatic environment and valorization of seafood and aquaculture products. Its expertise is able to bring a concrete contribution for an in-depth scientific knowledge in the identified sector of the Blue Economy such as strengthening the qualification and sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture.
