Overview

The Hartville Migrant Ministry began in 1952 and was incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 1962. The first migrants in the United States to be assisted through the Migrant Health Act of 1962 were treated at the Hartville Migrant Center. We are the oldest standing free clinic in Ohio. The Hartville Migrant Council is one of the few remaining ecumenical migrant ministries in the United States. Every growing season (April through October) the ministry provides a free medical clinic, welcome bags, personal care products, children’s educational summer program, adult education classes, legal clinic, bible studies, and a community center with a bilingual library and computer center. All of these services are run by volunteers and funded by donations and grants.
