Overview
Girls Incorporated of Greater Lowell inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold. Through creative programs in a safe and nurturing environment, we strive to teach the independence and personal responsibility girls need to succeed. Girls Inc. provides more than 400 youth from across the Greater Lowell area annually with life-changing experiences and real solutions to the unique issues girls face. Girls Inc. gives girls the right tools and support to succeed, including trained professionals who mentor and guide them in a safe, girls-only environment, peers who share their drive and aspirations, and research-based programming. At Girls Inc., members learn to set and achieve goals, boldly confront challenges, resist peer pressure, see college as attainable, and explore nontraditional fields such as STEM. Informed by the experiences of girls and their families, Girls Inc. works with policymakers to advocate on key legislation and initiatives. Girls Inc. serves girls ages 5 – 18 from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds from the Greater Lowell Area. Girls Inc. offers after school programming during the Lowell Public School calendar year, Monday through Friday from 2:00-6:00. Girls Inc. also offers full day 7:30-6:00 vacation week programs during school vacation in December, February and April and a nine week full day 7:30-5:30 Summer Program. Girls Inc. also operates Teen Programming specifically for girls ages 13-18 during the after school program and for special events during school vacations.
