Overview

The Federation of Orthopaedic and Trauma Trainees in Europe (FORTE), was founded during the EFORT Congress of 2005, in Lisbon (Portugal). Our common goals are the improvement of orthopedic educational standards, enabling learning opportunities and promotion of colleagues network throughout our members in Europe. At the outset, our aims are the following: Networking and fellowship possibilities Outreach to orthopaedic surgeons (trainee and consultants), links with industry Reference point for Orthopaedic Training matters Teaching and training Exchange of ideas and communication Because of the diverse training systems in Europe we have decided to work on two levels. At the top is a true Federation, where national trainee bodies subscribe. At the grass-roots level, individuals can sign up too. FORTE is still searching for the best way to represent every trainee and young orthopaedic surgeon in Europe. Our own Educational event – the FORTE Summer School was established in 2016. This exciting project has gathered scientific support of many European Societies like EFORT, EORS, ESSKA, Eurospine, FESSH, EHS, EFAS, EPOS, EMSOS and many more, also with the participation of more than 28 different countries. It is a true European project that will provides a unique platform for Ortho & Trauma trainees! Learning, relaxing and networking in a wonderful setting.
