Overview

Our current National Committee: President: Athina Stavrou Vice-President: Stefan Stankovic Secretary: Lazaros Hadjiforados Treasurer: Konstantinos Charalambous Public Relations Officer: Kornelia Kitazou Human Resources Officer: Stylianos Hadjiforados National Coordinators: Theodoulos Hadjimatheou, Maria Tanou The European Youth Parliament (EYP) Cyprus is one of the 40 National Committees that work under the umbrella of the EYP (co-ordinated by the Governing Body and International Office of the EYP in Berlin). As a result, the EYP Cyprus National Committee seeks to promote the work of the European Youth Parliament in Cyprus and our main aim is to organise EYP events on the island, in order to engage as many young individuals as possible in our activities. EYP Cyprus has been organising events since 2006 and has up to date reached more than three thousand young students coming from schools from all over Cyprus. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As a non-profit, non-partisan and non-governmental organisation, we offer young people an inclusive and neutral platform through which they can express their ideas, develop their skills and critically assess current issues. The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a unique educational programme which brings together young people from all over Europe to discuss current topics in a parliamentary setting. As a network of independent associations, EYP is present in 40 European countries and organises almost 600 events every year. The EYP network organises almost 1.500 days of EYP activity every year, involving close to 35.000 participants. Thousands of young people are active as volunteers all over Europe, making EYP a programme truly for young people, by young people. The Berlin-based Schwarzkopf Foundation is the international umbrella organisation of the EYP.
