Overview

Increasing scarcity of fossil fuels drives the need to search for sustainable energy sources. At the same time, organic waste streams (vegetables, fruit, fat etc.) are currently disposed of without using the energy within. The energy from biomass can be released as methane, which is produced by anaerobic fermentation of organic substrates. Enki Energy offers anaerobic fermenters which significantly reduce organic waste volumes and produce methane which can e.g. be used for heat supply. Contrary to existing systems, the system developed by Enki Energy is has a high process rate occurring in a compact system. This offers possibilities for decentralised waste and energy solutions. Besides designing and building anaerobic fermentation systems, Enki Energy acts as a consultancy firm for fermentation and waste treatment issues. Lab facilities are available to serve these goals.
