Overview

Elveden is a 23,000 acre country estate, located on the Suffolk-Norfolk border. Home to the Guinness family since 1894, their ethos for exceptional quality products transcends into the business today. The estate has diversified extensively in recent years and now comprises enterprises in farming, produce marketing, forestry and hedging, property, leisure and retail. Elveden is the UK's largest lowland arable farm in a single ring-fenced land area. The farm is internationally renowned for growing vegetables including carrots, onions, parsnips and potatoes, as well cereals, mainly rye, wheat and barley. Wildlife conservation is of utmost importance at Elveden and all farming operations are carried out with this in mind. Water conservation, diversity of flora and fauna, game management and protection of SSSI lowland heathland are all key environmental considerations for the estate. The farm is proud to be a LEAF demonstration farm and McDonald's European Flagship Farm. Elveden also runs a successful display Christmas tree operation, supplying around 1,000 trees annually to town and city centres, private business and public spaces across the UK. Trees are grown on-site in Elveden and in partnership with the Forestry Commission on sites across the UK. The Elveden Courtyard Shops and Cafe Restaurant and Elveden Inn are two of the leisure enterprises within the business, attracting thousands of customers annually. At Christmas time, the estate's own Christmas trees are sold to customers with Newfoundland Dogs towing them on sleds to cars - Christmas at Elveden is a unique experience. Events and festivals throughout the year have developed Elveden into a must-visit destination, renowned for a multitude of activities.
