As a charitable foundation, the mission of the DHHF is to raise funds for highest priority medical needs for Haldimand War Memorial Hospital and Edgewater Gardens, the 64-bed long-term care home attached to HWMH. But why would a hospital need to raise funds? While hospitals’ operations – like procedures and salaries – are paid for by the government, Ontario historically has not provided hospitals the funds to purchase the equipment they need to administer care. As a local hospital, it is critically important that the HWMH has the equipment, resources, and tools that it needs to provide patients with the best care possible. The people of Dunnville need a well-equipped Haldimand War Memorial Hospital and, in return, it needs the ongoing support of the Dunnville Hospital and Healthcare Foundation.
