The Department of Manpower and Employment was established by the Gazette Notification No. 1640/31 dated 12.02.2010 to perform the duties related to the functions performed as the Employment Division under the Ministry of Labor Relations and Manpower. The power to perform the following functions was vested in the Department by that Gazette Notification. 1. Formulation and implementation of National Policy on on Manpower and Employment 2.
