CRAB Studio was founded in 2006 and has become renowned for exceptional design at all scales. Notable projects include the Abedian School of Architecture in Australia and Department of Law and Central Administration in Austria. The practice has an experimental and artisanal attitude, and we always strive to go beyond the norm. At CRAB Studio nothing is rejected without creative investigation. Each project is deliberately calibrated to its situation: Gavin and the team spend much time ‘getting inside’ the task and its context. CRAB buildings are known for their sculptural qualities, yet behind these it is clear organisation, functional design and consideration for the end users that are always the key priorities.
