Overview

In December 2016, the Commission des Partenaires du Marché du Travail (CPMT) officially recognized the Comité Consultatif Personnes Immigrantes, a group of partners wishing to use this consultation to provide concrete solutions to obstacles to the employment of immigrants and increase their participation in the labor market. This also recognizes the specificity of this socio-professional category and therefore the need to reflect on improving conditions of access to employment and the development of this workforce. The representation of the members of the Comité Consultatif Personnes Immigrantes clearly demonstrates the interest of different labour market actors in providing their expertise to carry out the Committee's mandate. Thus, the college « Représentants des organismes spécialisés en développement de l’employabilité et organismes associatifs » is composed of seven members, the college « Représentants des travailleuses et travailleurs » is composed of three members and finally the college « Représentants des employeurs » is composed of three members. The CCPI therefore has an in-depth knowledge of the needs of this under-represented group in the labor market, as well as the systemic constraints and barriers related to a quality and sustainable professional integration.
