Overview

Boru’s history can be traced back to the mid 80’s. Originally called Celtic & Heraldic, the company initially produced Family Coat of Arms Jewelry, showcasing the proud heritage of people all over the world. This was the ‘first’ of many; first company to use Family Coat of Arms on a piece of jewelry, the original designer of the infamous ‘Mo Anam Cara’ ring and also the first manufacturer to use the Claddagh symbol on a Wedding Band. In 2003 the company changed ownership and the rebirth began from then, maintaining and keeping the majority of skilled craftsmen and focusing on improving efficiency, production and customer service. Celtic & Heraldic’s craftsman and now Boru’s Production Manager has trained all over the world from Turkey to Germany and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Our Production Manager trained under Master Craftsman Marcus Brockmoller in Germany. Under his guidance our polishers and stone setters work in tangent to produce high quality pieces to treasure. Under the helm off the owners Lisa & Paul O’Neill, the company rebranded to Boru, taken the name from Brian Boru, the last high king of Ireland. Capable and energetic, Brian Boru established himself as a patron of the arts and learning and presided over a period of great craftsmanship of Jewelry, incredible manuscripts and intricate stone masonry. Inspired by our last great king, and with a desire to replicate the values, heritage, skills and craftsmanship that go into making exquisite handmade Jewelry, Boru was born. We strive to continue to work in making Boru a leading light in the Irish design and manufacturing industry.
