At Aurum, our cuisine celebrates the best of Essex and The UK and is located in the heart of Southend-on-Sea. Our 70 seater restaurant, overseen by head chef Simon Webb, is open all day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Our adjoining gin-centric bar, which features over 30 types of gin, is the perfect place to start or end your evening with us. Our menu at Aurum uses the best of the season’s produce and is locally sourced. Our cuisine is a combination of refined gastronomy with delicious flavour but, importantly, it is healthy, balanced and exciting for the eye, as well as the palate. The sensory experience at Aurum is not just limited to your taste buds. Our exquisite restaurant interiors by renowned interior designer Adam Tibbatts will delight and seduce. From the luxury soft furnishings to the exquisite tableware and choice of lighting and fixtures, no expense has been spared in creating one of Essex’s finest dining experience. Our head chef Simon Webb's culinary career and accomplishments are impressive, to say the least. Simon has had vast experience in the kitchens of fine dining institutions in London. He has been head chef at the Langham Hotel and has overseen the private dining by Roux. He was made BCF British Chef of the Year in 2012 and was recognized as seafood chef of the year by the Norwegian seafood council in 2008. Simon will also be leading the English culinary team to compete in the Culinary World Cup 2018. He now heads up the kitchen at Aurum Restaurant and brings his experience and expertise to our kitchen. Aurum's interiors are stunning and a sight to behold; the decor is styled with attention to detail, the soft furnishings, lighting, wall coverings all reminiscent of a luxury establishment, chic but understated.
