Our mission is to empower women in developing countries to fight poverty and build better lives by capitalizing on their existing skills and cultural assets. In a developing context, women are increasingly being recognized as engines of meaningful change--they prioritize education, health, nutrition and community wellbeing. Empowered and financially independent, they become active influencers in their communities and have a positive impact on their own lives as well of those of their families, communities and even countries. Artistri Sud works with artisans to provide them with the support they need to enhance their capacity to develop equitable and sustainable products and relations with local and global markets. Increasingly, women entrepreneurs in other spheres, such as food and food transformation, retail and other small businesses are seeking support as they build their capacity to generate sustainable livelihoods.
