The American Society of Registered Nurses (ASRN) was founded in 1974 by a small group of nurses who shared a commitment to medicine to advocate for nurses and improve the quality of life for all patients. For over 45 years, the ASRN has been serving nurses across the country, in all specialties. The American Society of Registered Nurses provides for the well-being of nurses, students and academia. The ASRN is a national organization of 180,000 multi-specialty nurses who apply scientific knowledge, clinical research and technical expertise to the study, diagnosis, and treatment, with compassionate care of patients across the spectrum of health.
