In 2015, AOBC completed the assembly of the lubricants toll blending facility in Harrismith's SEZ in Maluti-a-Phofung. Free State Province, employing mainly women and orphan graduates. Clients included ENI, Puma Energy and TEVO, with brake-fluids, water-based coolants and water-less care care products.The company invests extensively in R/D and has pending product patents for sustainability and transformation during the Just Transition. The company now supplies water based products to Shell South Africa's Retail Forecourt Network with the newly launched Shell Car Care Portfolio. The launch of South African National Oil Company label (SANOC) is imminent and shall play a vital role in urban sustainability, focusing on the nation's black townships. A job creation programme in association with a multi-national oil major will see the employment of 1000 youth and female entrepreneurs. The company focuses on the implementation of the 17 SDGs, proving that oil companies can play a pivotal role during the Just Transition. With an established network of European refineries, the company supplies finished EURO 5 petrol, diesel and bitumen products, directly to the mines and large commercial business, at a time when the country faces refinery challenges. Over the years, the company has proved that oil products can be produced at reasonable prices. This approach shall benefit consumers and business, as recovery from the COVID - 19 pandemic gets underway. The core of the company's ethos is environmental protection, entrepreneur empowerment and wealth creation for the previously disadvantaged.
